PURPOSE OF THE DEGREE

The purpose of this degree programme is to provide a basic understanding of theological disciplines for further graduate study or for general educational purposes.

 PRIMARY GOAL OF THE PROGRAMME

The attainment of survey-knowledge in the discipline of ecumenical history and theology.

Content

For successful completion of the degree a candidate is expected to complete 24 credits.  The required credits shall be divided into four core courses and four elective courses. The core subjects will be history, theology, biblical studies and Ecumenical studies.  Candidate who wishes to do an extended paper in place of an elective course will be encouraged to do so.

Degree Program Language Standard

The courses for this degree are taught in the English language.

Duration

Normally the degree requires a minimum of one year of full-time year residence or its equivalent to complete the courses.  A candidate is expected to complete the degree requirements within 3 years after registration.

Location

All courses will be offered on the main campus of Tainan Theological College and Seminary (TTCS) in Tainan, Taiwan.

Transcripts

Whether a student finishes the degree program or not, academic transcripts of courses completed will be made available according to the schoolˇ¦s standard operating procedures.

 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Admission to the degree programme requires a baccalaureate degree from a government accredited institution or from a theological college accredited by an agency recognized by WOCATI.

Admission is open to students whose background and academic records indicate the ability to engage in graduate level study for academic pursuits or personal development.

Applicants must demonstrate ability to do graduate level theological study in English, either  by providing a TOEFL score of 400 (97) or above IELTS score of 4, or evidence of English language ability certified by a local standardized exam upon submitting their applications.
